HISTORY
We opened our Bristol surf and beach wear shop back in 1998 on Kellaway Ave in Redland, originally called Crazy Octopus, and quickly gained a reputation for friendly service. Although Kellaway Avenue is not exactly a high street location, it is easily accessible, you can park, and we have large pavement frontage for our kayaks. We are now firmly established as a surf and watersports specialist retailer and actively market ourselves not just to surfers and watersports enthusiasts, but also to the general family market getting stocked up for a water/beach based holiday.
In 2000 we launched our online shop which we called Beachshack. This has proved very popular and we now deliver by mail order to all corners of the UK and Europe. In 2004 we renamed our Bristol shop Beachshack to avoid confusion. The shop itself was extended a few years ago to create a new wetsuit department, and we now have by far the largest selection of wetsuits and neoprene accessories in the region! We stock a huge range of childrens wetsuits and operate a trade in scheme for kids. At the same time we introduced watersports equipment to our range, including boards, kayaks, waterskis, etc. Today we stock technical clothing / wetsuits / accessories for anyone into surfing, sailing, kayaking, wakeboarding,etc. When you enter our shop you will feel your holiday has started - so customers say! It could be the smell of surf wax, or maybe just the relaxed atmosphere. Whether you are about to go surfing / bodyboarding in Cornwall, or snorkelling in the Maldives, we can supply everything you need - bikinis, UV protection rash vests, boardshorts, wetsuits, sandals, snorkelling equipment, boards, etc OUR STAFF
We have Nick (the owner), Judi ( who originally opened the shop with our then manager Steve back in 1998), Emily & Sam.
CUSTOMER SERVICE
Our reputation is built on customer service. If you come to our Bristol shop to buy a new wetsuit or bodyboard, we will fit you with the right product for you and your requirements. Our staff have in depth knowledge of the products we sell, and we want you to go away happy with your purchase and come back to us again!
CLUB DISCOUNT SCHEME
We are now operating a club discount scheme in our Bristol shop. Membership costs £5 per annum and you receive a club card which entitles you to up to 10% discount on our products, priority access to sale products, and other benefits.
HIRE DEPARTMENT
We hire 3mm summer wetsuits (full length and short), bodyboards, etc. by the day / weekend / week / 2 weeks
